Our Story
True Self Games was founded in Germany with a simple mission: to create the gamebooks and interactive fiction we always wanted to play.
We craft choice-driven story adventures—gamebooks, text-based adventures, and choose-your-own-adventure experiences—where every decision matters and every path tells a different tale.
Our games are built for a global audience at trueselfgames.org, with stories available in five languages. Whether you're a seasoned interactive fiction fan or new to the genre, we're making something for you.
The Beginning
It started, as many adventures do, with running out of stories to play.
After devouring every gamebook and interactive fiction title he could find, Iosif Albu—a software developer with a love for playable stories—decided to create his own. What began as a side hobby quickly grew into something bigger.
Today, True Self Games focuses on what we love most: meaningful choice, narrative depth, and stories that stay with you long after the final page.

I'm an enthusiastic software developer who ran out of gamebooks to play and decided to make my own. When I'm not crafting branching narratives, I'm probably debugging something or dreaming up new ways to kill the player (in-game, of course). I'm actively involved in all aspects of True Self Games.

Endlessly creative with a talent for surprising plot twists. When she's not writing, she's tending to her ever-growing collection of houseplants or convincing her cats that keyboards are not beds.
